10 Steps to Health & Wellness


1) THE MIND/BODY CONNECTION. Without a doubt, every illness and disease process in the body has an emotional trigger at its core. It can be as dramatic as cancer to as trivial as an upset stomach, a cold, or a stubbed toe. You are what you think, and what you think, you attract to you. This is the Law of Attraction, and it is the operating system of the universe. Use it to improve the quality of your life by thinking thoughts that make you feel good inside. Replace negative thoughts and emotions with positive ones such as joy, gratitude, appreciation, empowerment, freedom, and love. Instead of focusing on your pain or illness, find things in your life to be grateful for. Use any form of daily meditation to align body, mind, and spirit.

2) STRESS. Stress causes changes in body biochemistry that will impair the immune system's ability to keep you healthy. Although stress can take many different forms, it is nothing more than an opportunity for personal growth. Reducing or eliminating stress in your life can be as simple as changing your perspective on how you look at something. Remember that you do not have control over what someone else does, only what you do.

3) NUTRITION. Eat fresh and raw fruits and vegetables whenever possible. Raw foods contain natural digestive enzymes that help your body to digest that food. Once you heat food, either on the stove, in the oven, or in the microwave, the heating process destroys some of these naturally occurring digestive enzymes making it more difficult to break down that food. Beside not being able to absorb all the nutrients within food, the end result of undigested food in the body is putrification which causes gas, bloating, and acid reflux. Taking digestive enzymes with meals may help you better digest the foods in your diet. For better nutrition, incorporate juicing into your daily regiment of eating. Juicing raw fruits and vegetables gives your body unsurpassed concentrated food quality without the quantity.

4) OXYGEN. Your body needs oxygen, and lots of it. Deep breathing several time a day will ensure that your body gets the oxygen that it needs. Deep breathing is also a great stress reducer.

5) EXERCISE. Exercise, exercise, exercise! Your body needs daily exercise for proper functioning to occur. A minimum of 30 minutes a day is essential.

6) SUNLIGHT. Your body needs a minimum of 30 minutes of natural sunlight every day. Sunlight not only aids in vitamin metabolism, but it also enhances brain biochemistry. It makes you feel good, and it's good for you.

7) WATER. You are thirsty! Drink more water, not coffee. The body is composed of mostly water and as such, it needs to be constantly flushed out and replenished. Eliminate coffee and soda from your diet altogether. Both caffeine and NutraSweet negatively affects hormones and brain chemistry.

8) SUPPLEMENTS. A good multivitamin/ mineral regiment ensures that your body is getting optimal levels of nutrients for proper functioning. Remember that the RDA is the minimum daily amount of vitamin and minerals that your body needs to prevent chemical and neurological breakdown. It was never meant to represent optimum health.

9) HOLISTIC THERAPY. There are more and more types of holistic therapies and alternative health practitioners available today than ever before. 10) THE SECRET TO LIFE. Everyone has their own idea of what this statement means to them. Look within to find your own truth, and allow others the freedom to find their own. Listen to your feelings and intuition more, for they are the windows to your higher consciousness. Love and accept yourself completely. Practice forgiveness of yourself and others whenever possible, for what you see in others is merely a reflection of what lies within you. When you replace judgment of self and others with love, acceptance, and forgiveness, your world will change before your eyes.
